PhD Student Philosophy of Cognitive Sciences (UNAM)
Rafael Cervera has a bachelor´s and master´s degree in philosophy from the University of Valencia (Spain). In recent years, he has devoted his research to ethical issues related to the emergence of new technologies and artificial intelligence, giving seminars and conferences in Mexico, as well as issues related to machine awareness. Currently, he is developing a PhD in Philosophy of Science at UNAM (Mexico) under the direction of Dr. Miguel Ángel Sebastián. His main lines of research are related to the areas of cognitive ethology, philosophy of mind, ethics and politics where he addresses problems concerning the mind of non-human animals and questions of a moral nature in the treatment of humans and animals. He has also written about emotions, ethics and personhood regarding artificial intelligence.
